MARCH 7 – MARCH 13
If you receive the message, ‘Go out there and be fabulous!’ what comes to mind? Would you be jumping with excitement, scared, or paranoid you might be hearing voices? Well be forewarned. Whether you consider it your inner guidance, God, a guiding spirit, your great grandmother, or a benevolent universal creative energy, it IS trying to get our attention this week. And, it is calling us to be fabulous! By fabulous, I think it is calling us to be the very best versions of our selves, living ON PURPOSE.
This week is astrologically spectacular with a New Moon Total Solar Eclipse on Tuesday in the mystical, mysterious and intuitive sign of Pisces. It almost goes without saying; New Moons are for clutter clearing! They give us the chance to see more clearly the distractions that interfere with the pursuit of living more consciously and on purpose.
These are powerful energies for releasing and beginning again. When the Sun is eclipsed you can underline that statement and repeat it many times over. In understanding this one, it’s important to consider the Moon resonates to inner truth and wisdom, feminine, yin, emotional and heart energy. This energy often takes a back seat to our more conscious minds and activities. During a Solar Eclipse the Moon blocks or conceals the energy of the Sun conscious, yang, and mental forces. In effect, the feminine intuitive mind steps forward.
Magnifying this power of the feminine is the fact this New Moon occurs in the last sign of the zodiac Pisces highly aligned with intuition, dreams, and the invisible that often is beyond the grasp and understanding of the five physical senses. Pisces is associated with mind-altering substances and rituals and is aligned with our inner desire (and conflict) to release individuality in favor of joining oneness.
When we look at a New Moon of this magnitude we need to move beyond the usual clichés about endings and beginnings, hellos and goodbyes, and releasing in order to move forward. They are still true; but we need to go a step further. In the sign of Pisces this New Moon Eclipse involves the energy of expansive Jupiter in Virgo, a challenge from authoritarian Saturn in Sagittarius and an overwhelming chorus of planets joining the Sun and Moon in Pisces (Mercury, Neptune, Chiron and South Node, to be specific!) This energy suggests, and maybe even insists, our enlightenment, insight and clues to our path and destiny lie inside of ourselves. Nothing new here! This is a powerful time of reaching within for answers, using discernment instead of judgment, and seeing with our hearts instead of our eyes.
As we attempt to ‘grow’ ourselves, there probably are no easy answers, but they also are never any further away than our hearts. As you absorb the lessons of this New Moon be more conscious of looking within rather than expecting outside sources to hold your answers. Expect messages from your inner guide and higher self. It’s not just your imagination. And what if it is? Do you doubt your higher self can use your imagination to get through to you? And by the way, here is a message I heard for you loud and clear as I was writing this article ‘Go out and be fabulous!’ Trust yourself. Anticipate something wonderful.
Until next week, let go and wear loose clothes!
MONDAY
MARCH 7
MOON in AQUARIUS / PISCES
Moon Void of Course 12:46 am (PST) 11:08 am
Under the influence of a very spiritual and psychic Pisces Moon we are in the last day of the lunar cycle and preparing for a spectacular New Moon Total Solar Eclipse tomorrow. Messages and events today may take on more importance than we first believe or imagine. This is a great day to spend extra time in meditation, reflection or simply going within. If you don’t have the time to squeeze this into your schedule, at the very least, pay attention to everything that seems to be happening around you and within you.
Messages today awaken desire which may include a longing for more intimacy and sexuality, a yearning for opportunities to be more creative and purposefully expressive and to be involved in work and everyday activities that fully engage our skills, expertise and interests. In short, we are more in touch with our sexuality, our creativity, and we want great jobs that make us feel alive! Is this really too much to ask?

TUESDAY
MARCH 8
NEW MOON ECLIPSE in PISCES
Moon Void of Course 5:54 pm (PST) 11:40 am Wednesday morning
It’s pretty rare that we can claim life makes logical sense. For every rule there is an exception. Every time we think we have it all figured out, we are surprised. Today we walk not on the solid ground of earth but are swimming in the cosmic ocean of emotion and intuition. Everything today is leading up to a New Moon this evening when the Moon not only joins the Sun at 18 Pisces, but moves in between the Earth and Sun completely obscuring our view of the Sun. If you are in Indonesia and certain parts of the Pacific you will enjoy the whole show!
Astronomy aside, this really is a impressive event with many potential benefits manifesting in our lives. This might precipitate important and significant changes both the kind that seem to just happen, and the ones we initiate. Don’t resist what comes to you today; but also don’t be quick to judge the significance or meaning. It will take time to really understand and for the mind to catch up with the heart.
Intuition is in high gear today and accessing wisdom through the heart seems more on target than mental logic. That being said, we don’t have to throw common sense out the window! However, this is a great time to access information and deepen your connection to your inner guide and higher self. Focus on activities like meditation, reflection, working with stones, crystals, essential oils, tarot or oracle cards or practicing energetic healing techniques. All will be particularly powerful today and throughout these next few weeks. Try to include activities that help you access your creativity, imagination and inner knowing and build your trust in the veracity of your intuition.
Daily Muse: Everything in the universe is interconnected. Within each it is reflected. (Lourdes Pita)
WEDNESDAY
MARCH 9
MOON in PISCES / ARIES
Moon enters Aries 11:40 am (PST)
Today the element of fire (inspiration and motivation) makes a comeback attempting to balance the cosmic scales heavily tilted towards emotional water. The Moon in courageous Aries finds an ally in Mars in sizzling Sagittarius. It helps, but mostly we might find ourselves merely agitated! Ideas and inspiration are flowing through and we are anxious to get started; however, the timing may not be right. Nurture your ideas without having to initiate, especially if in your gut you agree with me about the timing.
The predominance of water energy might be bringing up some worries. If so, don’t give into the tendency to blow them out of proportion. Even changes you have not invited will probably work out favorably. Stay grounded in your body (which can be very difficult at this point); eat, drink plenty of fluids, do some yoga, dance, or take a walk, and get some sleep.
Daily Muse: As long as you do not live totally in the body, you do not live totally in the self. (B.K.S. Iyengar)
THURSDAY
MARCH 10
MOON in ARIES
Expectations may be running high today and with the Moon in Aries, we probably have a burst of energy. Although there may be movement forward, and ultimately our goals will be reached, somehow today things don’t seem to get off the ground. There is a delay or stalled energy that can be frustrating. A dead battery in a vehicle, a missed appointment or connection, or an unfulfilled promise can all have us on edge. Whatever the problem, it’s probably only a temporary holdup and not worth losing our peace of mind over. Is anything?
Tonight as Mercury moves towards its destined alignment with Neptune, the planet of dreams, it’s easier to see things including our lives, in a bigger context. We can imagine the solution to problems and believe in invisible lines of connections and guidance working in our favor. This is a time to feed the imagination with stories, movies, creativity and spiritual truths. Mercury prefers the logical mental domain, and yet greatly benefits from the infusion of seeing from the perspective of the heart.
Daily Muse: The eyes experience less stress when they can look upon a wider horizon. (R. D. Chin)
FRIDAY
MARCH 11
MOON in ARIES / TAURUS
Moon Void of Course 10:24 am (PST) 11:44 am
What’s hanging you up? Are you willing to look and see? You probably are familiar with the old adage, ‘you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink’. The energy feels a little like that today. We’ve been inundated with messages and feelings of impending change this week. With the Moon in sensual and practical Taurus we might want a bit of reprieve and prefer to turn away from pondering the meaning of life and just do some very ordinary and every day things that make our bodies feel good and at home. Some good old fashioned Mac and Cheese sounds so comforting forget the lactose intolerance and gluten sensitivity!
However, the search for significant change continues as the Sun meets up with the South Node of the Moon. In my way of thinking this can be baggage from the past a past life if you prefer, or even just from childhood. The South Node tends to be habitual behavior we turn to time and time again. It’s not necessarily bad, just unconscious and overdone. The brilliance of the Sun throws light on these entrenched beliefs and habitual behaviors. We may be a bit squeamish about looking at them, but if we do, we will be richly rewarded. It’s very possible the complaints we have about not sticking to our diet or exercise plan or feeling stagnant or unmotivated are rooted here and are indeed hanging us up! With the Sun and South Node both in Pisces (not to mention all those other planets!) there is a great potential for healing. Drop the defenses and try to see your life and choices more objectively.
Daily Muse: You cannot be a pioneer of different consciousness on this planet if you feel completely comfortable in the consciousness that already exists around you. (Alana Fairchild)
SATURDAY
MARCH 12
MOON in TAURUS
Venus enters Pisces 2:24 am (PST)
There’s not much to dislike today with loving Venus surrendering to the compassionate ideals of Pisces and the Moon in artistic and pragmatic Taurus making harmonious planetary connections. Venus in Pisces is idealistic, sensitive and very tuned into the desires and needs of others. (Lucky you if you have a partner with Venus in Pisces!) This Venus is imaginative and creative with an other-worldly sense of taste and style. Today’s mood should be sweetly romantic with a definite preference for fantasy.
If there is a drawback it’s the tendency for Venus in Pisces to be taken in by every hard luck story she hears. This girl is totally empathetic and her heart is truly with every stranger in need. She’s not usually too good with finances or balancing the accounts as she prefers to go with her gut and all those numbers are nothing but distractions! Just beware of making purchases, donations or promising contributions, time or resources without giving at least some thought to the realities of your finances and your calendar.
Daily Muse: Reality is the leading cause of stress among those in touch with it What is reality anyway? Just a collective hunch. (Lily Tomlin)
SUNDAY
MARCH 13
MOON in TAURUS / GEMINI
Moon Void of Course 1:46 am (PST) 2:03 pm
Daylight Savings time begins 2:00 am (PDT)
As if all this Piscean energy isn’t disorienting enough, now today Daylight Savings Time Begins and we magically lose an hour! See, reality is not as solid as you may have imagined. We play with it all the time!
With the Moon in body conscious Taurus, this morning we will argue for sleeping in (to make up for that hour!) and lingering over breakfast, or more likely, brunch. When the Moon dances into quick thinking Gemini in mid-afternoon, the tempo picks up and we are less satisfied just lazing around. I can almost hear someone shout ‘we are burning daylight.’ The Moon in Gemini is very changeable, fickle even, so don’t get caught up in changing course if you aren’t feeling it. On the other hand, there is no reason to be the holdout unwilling to entertain a new plan or idea even if it’s not your first choice. Sticky lunar connections with both Venus and Mars add a minor bit of conflict to evening social plans and interactions.
Daily Muse: The stuff of our lives doesn’t change. It is we who change in relation to it. (Molly Vass)
MARCH 21 – MARCH 27
The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra before daybreak (Pacific Time) on Wednesday is certainly a highlight, but itâs not the only thing going on in the cosmos this week. On Monday thereâs a perceptible shift in the speed of thinking and communications when Mercury sprints into Aries. What this transit lacks in the diplomacy department it makes up for in speed! Mercury in Aries is a straight shooter and may have many of us asking ourselves ‘did I say that out loud?â This is terrific energy for brain storming and getting our ideas out there. This placement sparks curiosity but can also encourage us to fly from one idea to another. If you already have a tendency to give into distractions, you may need to be more aware and have a plan during the next few weeks to stay on task.
On Wednesday Jupiter makes the second of two challenging squares with Saturn. There is a nice give and take of energy here despite the fact itâs a square aspect between these planets that requires a change or adjustment. We are balancing our hopes and expectations while Jupiter is in Virgo. We are coming to an experiential understanding that wishing and hoping doesnât manifest dreams; purposeful action does. With Saturn beginning its annual retrograde pattern on Friday, this connection is likely to be a reminder to be patient and dedicated, even before we can see results.
Heads up on Friday when Venus is not very happy with her connections to Jupiter and Saturn. Venus is associated with love, relationships, money, creativity, other stuff we find valuable, and even our feelings of self worth. When she connects with Jupiter early Friday morning it could set off a wave of feeling a lack, or general dissatisfaction with ourselves, our relationships, and with our life situation. It doesnât help much when a few hours later, Saturn puts in his two cents. This can be a stern reminder that we ‘canât buy love or happinessâ. (The Beatles told us that in the 60âs!) In fact satisfaction and happiness may not be forthcoming on one or more of the paths we have selected. But there is no reason to lose hope! For the most part itâs our perception that needs to be changed. Fridayâs thunderstorms make way for Saturdayâs clarity and rainbows.
Now about that Lunar Eclipse on Wednesday. The energy pattern includes the Full Moon in partnership-minded Libra and thinking Mercury holding hands with the Sun in the opposite sign of Aries. Considering they are both in the sign of independence and fearlessness, Iâm not sure this is the right analogy. Ok, letâs say they are comrades in arms, or at the very least, willing and like-minded collaborators.
There is a worthwhile message for us in there – we donât have to go it alone. Life requires a balance of taking initiative and personal responsibility (Aries) with making room for others in our lives (Libra). This includes making room for their opinions, strengths, weaknesses and oftentimes, their material stuff. This continuum of developing and fully expressing ourselves as individuals (Aries) is not quite as satisfying if we do it in a vacuum. Other people can be our collaborators, lovers, partners, mentors, and muses.
This Lunar Eclipse can temporarily quiet the noise allowing us to imagine ways to balance these two very important functions – independence and self-actualization with collaboration and partnership. It doesnât have to be an either / or proposition.
Until next week, let go and wear loose clothes.
MONDAY
MARCH 21
MOON in VIRGO
Moon Void of Course 8:54 pm (PDT) – 10:23 pm Tuesday evening
Mercury enters Aries 5:19 pm (PDT)
We might want to stop and think about the value of social capital today. You know – those relationships with family, friends and co-workers that don’t always flow smoothly but overall, we’re glad they are in our lives. The Moon in Virgo has a list of tasks and goals for today and we are tempted to think how much easier it be if all these people didn’t keep getting in our way! Yes life wouldn’t be so messy if we could always have things our way, but then again it wouldn’t be as interesting or as much fun.
Tonight Mercury sprints into courageous and quick-thinking Aries. What he lacks in the diplomacy department he makes up for in speed! Mercury in Aries is a straight shooter and may have many of us asking ourselves ‘did I say that out loud?’ This is terrific energy for brain storming and getting our ideas out there. This placement sparks curiosity but can also encourage us to fly from one idea to another. If you already have a tendency to give into distractions, you may need to be more aware during the next few weeks in order to stay on task.
In this three-week cycle, we are more apt to tell the truth, at least the truth as we see it. We spend less time considering our message and more often than not, just say what’s on our minds. Mercury in Aries is rarely if ever accused of subtlety! Also note we tend to communicate our ideas with enthusiasm and more force when Aries fire speaks through Mercury. Plan accordingly!
Daily Muse: People who keep their feelings to themselves tend not to know, after a while, what their feelings are. (Paul Berman)
TUESDAY
MARCH 22
MOON in VIRGO / LIBRA
Moon enters Libra 10:23 pm (PDT)
Astrologically it’s a quiet day with the Moon drifting Void of Course – not making any planetary connections – until it glides into Libra late tonight. We may be juggling lots of tasks or responsibilities today and with the Moon in Virgo, we will be dedicated and efficient. Key thoughts for today are ‘make a plan’ but ‘build in lots of flexibility into your schedule’. If your best friend calls and wants to meet for lunch, put down the vacuum or shut down the computer – you can finish these tasks later. Maybe you will hear the siren call and just want to skip out of responsibilities for a few hours. Can’t make any promises, but with the VOC Moon, you aren’t likely to suffer any long-lasting consequences!
Late tonight the Moon dances into Libra and our hearts turn to love and romance. The desire to have our way seems less important than making peace and enjoying the idea of ‘we’ more than ‘me’.
Daily Muse: There is no pleasure in having nothing to do; the fun is having lots to do and not doing it. (Andrew Jackson)
WEDNESDAY
MARCH 23
MOON in LIBRA
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 3 Libra 5:01 am (PDT)
The Libran Scales are tipping toward more cosmic activity today, maybe making up for the quiet atmosphere yesterday. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra before daybreak Pacific Time is certainly a highlight, but it’s not the only thing going on in the cosmos today. Expansive and hopeful Jupiter efficiently taking care of business in Virgo challenges disciplined Saturn, in Jupiter’s home sign of Sagittarius. There is a nice give and take of energy here despite the fact it’s a square aspect between these planets that requires a change or adjustment. We are balancing our hopes and expectations while Jupiter is in Virgo. We are coming to an experiential understanding that wishing and hoping doesn’t manifest dreams; purposeful action does. With Saturn beginning its annual retrograde pattern within a few days, this connection is likely to be a reminder to be patient and dedicated, even before we can see results.

THURSDAY
MARCH 24
MOON in LIBRA
Moon Void of Course 1:55 pm (PDT) – 11:09 am Friday morning
The day starts off on a very positive and constructive note when the Moon in artistic and creative Libra finds strength and purpose with a connection to Saturn. In mid-day distractions or petty annoyances threaten to throw us off course, or even dismantle the progress we have made. Keeping to your plan and finding satisfaction in discipline will end up being rewarding. Resist the urge to procrastinate or to put off until later what you can, and maybe should, get done right now. You’ll be glad if you see it through.
We get a lot of mental support and a considerable mid-afternoon boost when thinking Mercury connects with energetic Mars. What appears to be a spontaneous conversation or even a planned meeting easily turns into a meeting of the minds. This connection inspires ideas and invigorates communications. This may a good day for a late afternoon or early evening business meeting, or for a personal rendezvous where you want to communicate your ideas clearly and with enthusiasm.
Daily Amuse: Treat every connection, communication and collaboration as part of a continuous relationship. (Kim Chandler McDonald)
FRIDAY
MARCH 25
MOON in LIBRA / SCORPIO
Moon enters Scorpio 11:09 am (PDT)
Saturn stations Retrograde 3:01 am (PDT)
Saturn the planet of structure, discipline, and patience begins a 5-month retrograde pattern today. It’s not earth shattering, and in fact may be barely perceptible. (Those of you with strong Capricorn energies may be more sensitive to your ruling planet’s motion and direction and because Saturn is in Sagittarius, these natives too may have a stronger connection.) Because Saturn retrogrades for about 5 months every year, we should be pretty accustomed to it. Nevertheless, it signals a time when we might feel less outwardly productive whereas planning or doing research during this period may feel right on target and rewarding.
Closer to our consciousness today is Venus, the planet of love and values. She connects with both Jupiter and Saturn which can, to say the least, make us uncomfortable on several fronts. Venus is associated with love, relationships, money, creativity, other stuff we find valuable, and even our feelings of self worth. When she connects with Jupiter this morning we might be struggling with feelings of dissatisfaction, feeling like we don’t have enough of the good stuff, or generally feeling not very pleased with ourselves or our life situation.
It doesn’t help much when a few hours later, Venus connects with Saturn. This can be a stern reminder that we ‘can’t buy love or happiness’. In fact satisfaction and happiness may not be forthcoming on one or more of the paths we have selected. But there is no reason to lose hope! Overall these planetary obstacles point out flaws in our thinking! I’m not being a Pollyanna when I suggest 99% of the problems and challenges we see, especially today, are a direct result of not seeing ourselves, our issues or our lives clearly. I’m not trying to dismiss your very real pain; I’m simply pointing out that most, if not all the time, it’s our perception that needs to be changed.
Notice today if petty annoyances, irritations and frustrations arise especially in relationships or about money and finances. Do yourself a favor and at least pretend a very real and satisfying solution is available and ask your higher self to show it to you. Instead of focusing on the problem, focus on how to erase the distance between you and the answer. If today feels like thunderstorms, be assured, tomorrow the Sun returns with rainbows.
Daily Muse: Let us be determined not to collect grievances today.
SATURDAY
MARCH 26
MOON in SCORPIO
Things are looking much lighter and feeling brighter today as the Sun in independent and self-confident Aries makes a self-affirming connection to Aries’ ruling planet, Mars. It’s as if the universe has leaned down and whispered in our ear ‘You’ve got something great going here, something bigger and better than you can even imagine!’
And if that’s not enough, Venus is feeling more herself today and finds a new purpose with a connection to Pluto. Yesterdays challenges and doldrums have led to greater clarity and we feel good about the choices we are making. It might have felt yesterday like a rude awakening or a bandage being abruptly pulled off; but today we feel, for lack of a better word, ‘purified’ in our thinking. We are sure of ourselves and know we will have support and guidance on our path.
Daily Muse: A clear purpose will unite you as you move forward, values will guide your behavior, and goals will focus your energy. (Kenneth H. Blanchard)
SUNDAY
MARCH 27
MOON in SCORPIO / SAGITTARIUS
Moon Void of Course 12:25 am (PDT) – 11:46 pm
The Moon in introspective Scorpio is void of course all day until almost midnight Pacific Time. This energy is not usually the most social, so be advised if you are participating in a holiday brunch or tradition with friends and family. People may be feeling more sensitive or touchy than usual. It’s wise to be on your best behavior, as in, don’t go out of your way to be stinker or to be provocative.
There is an undercurrent of secrecy which might play well for finding creative ways to hide the goodies for the Easter egg hunt. However, in other scenarios in which people expect you to be honest and forthright, it won’t go over so well if you try to pull a fast one. And with a perceptive Scorpio Moon, you are likely to get caught! If you tell your sister or best friend you are under the weather and won’t be helping with Easter Brunch, don’t be seen later at the movie theater standing in the cue for the latest blockbuster. Tell the truth and be above board in your behavior, while being aware people may have an unconscious desire to be a bit mysterious today.
Daily Muse: We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining – they just shine. (Dwight L. Moody)
